Ace The Sunset Eyeshadow Look With This Simple Guide

Summer is here and now is the perfect time to experiment with colours. Be it for outfits or makeup looks, you can choose any vibrant colour and make a glaring appearance. And while we talk about summer makeup ideas, nothing can beat a summer look more than a bright sunset eyeshadow look. So, bring out your orange and yellow eyeshadow colours and let’s get started with this sunset eyeshadow look step-by-step tutorial.

Step-by-step guide on sunset eyeshadow look

Master the art of creating a sunset eyeshadow look with this simple stepwise guide.

Step 1 – Prime your eyelids

Start your sunset eye makeup look by prepping your eyelids. An eyeshadow primer can do this task magnificently. This eye makeup product can make your yellow and orange eye makeup last from dawn to dusk and will also help create a smooth and even base. If you do not have an eye primer, a dot of your favourite foundation or concealer will do the trick. Simply blend the foundation or concealer with a fluffy blending brush and set everything in place using a powder that matches the rest of your skin tone. Using an exact shade of foundation or concealer and powder will help create a seamless eyeshadow base that will blend in with the rest of your face makeup.

Step 2 – Use a light base colour

To start off, lay down a light eyeshadow shade to create a base. Use the lightest shade from the Maybelline City Mini Eyeshadow Palette – 5Th Avenue Sunset as your base shade. A light eyeshadow base will help the bright orange and yellow eyeshadow on top appear more vibrant. Once your base is ready, apply a bright yellow eyeshadow on top, all over your eyelid. To add some pizzazz to your sunset eye look, you can also use a gold eyeshadow instead of yellow. The yellow-gold eyeshadow from the Maybelline The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette will act as the perfect base colour for an orange and gold eye makeup look.

Step 3 – Add a gradient colour to your crease

Use a warm orange eye makeup colour in your crease to create a seamless gradient effect. Use a big fluffy brush to add the orange colour from the 5th Avenue Sunset City Mini Eyeshadow Palette in your crease. Do not worry about being precise, let the transition shade blend in with the yellow or gold base shade. Make sure to use a clean blending brush as you do not want your sunset eye look appear muddy.

Step 4 – Deepen up the crease and outer corner

Use a purple, wine, or red eyeshadow shade in your crease and the outer corner of your eyes to add depth and drama to your sunset eye makeup look. If you want to take this eyeshadow look one step further, use the darker eyeshadow colour in your inner and outer corner to create a halo eye look. To apply the colour precisely, use a smaller and denser blending brush and then blend the colours using another clean blending brush.

Step 5 – Do not forget the undereye area

After creating a stunning sunset eyeshadow look on your eyelids, you cannot leave your lower lash line bare! Replicate the warmth of your eyelids by blending the same colours along your lower lash line. You can use just the orange and yellow eyeshadow, just the darker shade, or use all three, the choice is yours. Use a flat blending brush to apply the colour to your lower lash line and create a blurred shadow effect. Voila! Your sunset yellow eyeshadow look is done!

Step 6 – Bling it on

Now add a touch of sparkle to your sunset eyes by applying highlighter to the inner corner of your eyes and under the arch and tail of your eyebrows

Step 7 – Finish the rest of your eye makeup

No eye makeup look is complete without eyeliner and long and voluminous eyelashes. Create a dramatic winged eyeliner using the Maybelline Colossal Bold Liner and give your lashes sensational volume without any clumping with the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

Complete the rest of your face makeup by using a warm, peach blush on your cheeks and adding a golden highlight shade to the high points of your face. For your lip makeup, use a warm nude or brown lipstick to keep all the attention on your eyes! If you are not afraid of colour, use a lipstick shade similar to the darker eyeshadow colour you used to intensify the eyes.
