5 Minute Makeup Guide For Your Video Conferencing

Makeup Tips For Video Conferencing

The global coronavirus outbreak has stalled all our usual activities and thrown our daily routine out of whack. If you are one of the lucky ones working from home during this lockdown period, your video conferences and meetings have probably increased.

You have all day to get your work done but you hit snooze too many times and now your first video call is in 15 minutes!

Here is a quick five minute makeup routine for your next video conference so you can put your best face forward even in a rush.

1. Don’t Skip Skincare

Whether you plan on putting a full face of makeup on or just doing your hair, skincare is a must. Stick to your daily cleansing, toning, and moisturizing routine to take care of your skin. A good skincare routine instantly brightens up your complexion and creates a blank canvas for the rest of your routine. The moisturizer acts like a makeup base for your foundation.

2. Apply Foundation

While attending a video conference, the application’s camera tends to wash you out and a good, buildable foundation will help add some colour to your face. Applying foundation helps cover all imperfections and gives you an even complexion. Use a natural matte finish foundation that helps keep the oil in check so you don’t end up looking shiny on screen.

You can try the Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless Foundation. This non-comedogenic foundation refines pores for a natural-looking matte finish. The wide array of shades and the buildable coverage of the Fit Me Matte+Poreless will give you flawless finish for your next video conference.

3. Define Your Eyes With A Thick Coat Of Mascara

Skip intricate eye makeup looks and instead brighten up your eyes with a generous coat of mascara. Coating your eyelashes helps make your lashes look longer and more voluminous. This, in turn, helps open up your eyes, making them look brighter and more-awake.

If you want to take this one step further, apply a coat of mascara to your bottom lashes as well. You can also rub an angled brush along the mascara wand and lightly smudge this along your lash line to further define your eyes for a bold look.

4. Fill In Your Eyebrows

Strong and bold eyebrows will tie up the entire makeup look together and make you look more presentable. Since nobody is seeing you from up-close, you do not need to spend too much time adding hair-like details to your brows and cleaning around the edges with a concealer. Just fill in your eyebrows with your usual colour and make them darker so they show up on camera.

5. Add A Bold Lip Colour

Even if you do not wear a bright lip colour to work, a bright pop of colour during video conferencing will help make your makeup look complete. Pinks, reds, and oranges are some great options makes you look happy and confident on camera. If your meeting calls for a more professional look, shades of brown or mauve lipsticks will keep your look subtle but stylish at the same time.

You are probably making full use of this lockdown period by working in your PJs. But on the days when you’re on video calls with your colleagues and clients, a quick five-minute makeup routine and changing your shirt is all you need to look professional! Use the Maybelline Fit Me foundation in your perfect shade to look your flawless in your next Zoom call.
