Whether you want to reduce the dark circles under your eyes or need to hide the pesky acne spots that have scarred your face, Maybelline concealers will get the job done. From covering skin pigmentation to highlighting your favourite feature, concealer makeup is a great way to achieve a look that says “I woke up like this!”. But did you know there are many different ways to use this handy little product? Read on to know how you can use one concealer stick or liquid concealer in 7 different ways!
1. Spot treatment
The first and most obvious use of a concealer is to conceal any imperfections on your face. Even on days when you don’t feel like wearing foundation, dotting some concealer on your pimple or blemish will give you an even complexion. When spot correcting, remember to find a concealer shade that is the closest match to your skin tone as a brightening concealer will highlight the area, and the last thing you need is to draw attention to your pimple! If you are not sure about the perfect concealer for your skin tone and undertone, head over to the Maybelline Fit Finder tool to find your exact Fit Me Concealer shade in just a few clicks.
2. Conceal under eye circles
Whether you’ve pulled an all-nighter for college or work or to party with your friends, waking up to dark and puffy under eyes is not a fun way to start the day. Use a concealer to cover up these pesky undereye circles and instantly look fresh-faced. If you have particularly dark undereye circles, first go in with a peach colour corrector and then top it off with the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer. The super-concentrated formula of the Age Rewind Concealer is infused with Goji Berry and Haloxyl to refresh the under-eye area and make it more radiant, making it one of the best concealers for dark circles. To see how the concealer looks on your under-eyes, apply the concealer virtually and in real-time using the Maybelline Virtual Try On tool. This virtual makeup tool makes it super easy to test out all different Maybelline products with zero commitment and from the comfort of your own home. Simply upload a picture from your photo gallery or use the live camera feature to click a photograph, select a concealer for your dark circles, and see yourself in Maybelline!
3. Contouring
Use a concealer shade that is around two shades darker than your skin tone as a cream contour! Choose from the Age Rewind Concealer shades if you like to create well-defined and chiseled contour lines or opt for the Fit Me Concealer if you prefer a more natural looking contour. Blend the concealer out with a beauty sponge or brush till there are no harsh lines.
4. Illuminating and brightening
Highlight the high points of your face like the bridge of your nose, the top of your cheekbones, the cupid’s bow, and the centre of your forehead by choosing a face concealer shade that is two shades lighter than your skin tone. Contouring and highlighting with a concealer is a great way to play with light and shadows and add more dimension to your face.
5. Eye priming
Before you lay down your eyeshadow and begin your eye makeup, don’t forget to prime the lids with an primer or a concealer. This helps create an even base and is also great for making the eyeshadow pop! If you have dark or vein-y eyelids, using a concealer cancels out the pigmentation and redness and gives you a fresh canvas to work your magic on.
6. Clean up your eyebrows
Ever wondered how your favourite celebrity on screen has eyebrows that are so sharp and well-defined? Well, you guessed right, a concealer has something to do with it! Use a light Maybelline concealer shade to outline your eyebrows, especially under the arch of the brow and blend it with a concealer brush or your ring finger to make your eyebrows stand out and look clean and on fleek.
7. Define and plump up your lips
Prevent your lipstick from bleeding or feathering outside your lip line by outlining or tracing your lips with a concealer. Use a fine tip brush to carefully draw outside your lip line and make your lipstick look sharp and clean. But that’s not all, after applying your favourite lipstick, dab the middle section of your lips with a lightweight liquid or cream concealer and blend it out with your fingers to make your lips look fuller and plumper.
So there you have it! 7 different ways to use your concealer for your face, eyes, and lips.
